My Dilema

Numbers, math, it all equals such and such.  This is what happens when I look at how much money is in the black, and how much is in the red.  It all swims around in my head...well lets see, if I take this much out of the savings and put it toward this payoff, then I will only owe this much...uh, but then I have less than such and such in the savings, and how are we going to build a savings if I pull money out, but maybe I should pull out because I won't pay as much interest on the item I wish to pay off, but what if I need that money for an emergency?  And the argument with myself continues.

It's all good, because I have realized that I live my life in cycles.  It seems I go through this painful argument every time we have 3 paychecks in a month.  So I have learned (almost) what works in my cycles and what doesn't.  35 has been a good age for me, it seems as though I am learning a lot about my behavior patterns, and those of my husband.  As for the children, theirs is always changing, so keeping tabs on that would really make my head spin.  I just try to love them and be a MOM in every sense of the word.

So I figured I had the time to bring the scanner down from the top shelf and scan in my dress sketch that is mentioned in a post below.  So here it is, and I hope the next photo will be a picture of the tangible 3D object that looks similar...but better ha ha.

Oh those allergies!

Well, I have ignored them enough, my allergies have truly set in. It is a symphony of sneezing, sniffling, and blowing. I mistakenly thought since my allergies did not start up early in the season, that maybe they would be non existent in my new habitat...boy was I wrong.

I was once told by a friend that when the standard OTC allergy medication did not work for her, that her doctor told her to combine with an antacid...I did, and it worked! I am going to have to do that again just for the season. That will mean 1 vitamin 1 HTC 1antacid 1allergy pill OH MY. Also I know antacids are harmful to ones body.

Here's another thing about summer. I live in the Pacific NW where Breast Cancer is more pronounced...why? Well research has lead to lack of Vitamin "D". After reading about this wonderful vitamin that you get mainly from sunshine, that there are many factors that block it's absorption, one of which being sunscreen. The recommendation was for 15 to 20 minutes of direct sunlight on the face and arms 1 to 3 days a week in the summer. I cannot remember how the duration of the exercise. And if you think you will get this wonderful vitamin by driving in the sunshine...think windows down. Yep windows block that all important ray from getting into the skin. The book I got all of this info from is tucked safely away in the library so I cannot reference it. I just popped over to Wikipedia and found some information that you may be interested in that is not included in my blog post.

So point being (I guess) which do you want to avoid Breast Cancer, or Skin Cancer? I know there are other ways you can get vitamin "D" that include, milk, eggs, and certain types of fish, but it takes me back to the antacids, so much of what we eat, smell, touch, and see, hear, and read can be harmful to us. So it is up to each one of us to filter what we think may be harmful. Choose your battles...if you will. So when I am unclear on what may be safe or harmful, I can always take it to my Savior Jesus Christ, and trust that the Holy Spirit will guide me in the right direction. Thank you so much for reading <3

It must be a summer thing

But I feel the urge to blog. Summer is usually a time when I set foot to my sewing machine. This time around I am a little more confident with the articles I create. So far this summer I have created nothing, but just before school got out, I made three aprons (one is above), and two purses. The first one I made using materials I wasn't completely tied to, the second one (above), I used my favorite fabric and it turned out so nice! I have gotten a few compliments on the bag, but the biggest compliments of all are the requests for one of thier own.

Two people have requested a bag. I told them I would be more than happy to do that, but they would have to pay for the materials. I can't wait to get started on the John Deere one! I suppose I could be doing that now as opposed to blogging, but I have had a long and tiresome day.

I also have fabric for two sets of mother daughter aprons, and an apron for a new friend.

Right now I am designing my very own dress, with some help from a book called Built by Wendy Dresses
I will try to keep you posted on the outcome. Heck, I might even throw in my sketch of what I want the dress to look like.

I have dreams about patterns, and making one of a kind stuff, however my brain just isn't there (yet)...
